Copyright Claims

How to report a copyright concern involving YTDown and what to include in your message.

Respecting copyright

YTDown asks users to download only content they own or have permission to save. The availability of a video online does not itself grant permission to copy or reuse it. Rights remain with their respective owners.

Submit a claim

If you own the copyright, or are authorized to act for the owner, send an email to the address below with the subject “Copyright claim”. Please include:

  • Your full name, contact email, and your relationship to the copyright owner.
  • A description of the copyrighted work and a link to an authorized example, where available.
  • The exact YTDown page, source video URL, download URL, or other links involved, with enough detail to locate the concern.
  • An explanation of how the use involving YTDown affects your rights.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the reported use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or applicable law.
  • A statement that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
  • Your typed full name as an electronic signature.

After you send a report

Reports are handled by email. We may request clarification or supporting information to identify the work, the relevant activity, or your authority to report it. Any action depends on the details of the report and the activity within our control.

If the original content is hosted on an external platform, you may also need to contact that platform. A report to YTDown does not remove content from YouTube or another provider.

Send only relevant information

Provide accurate information and avoid including unnecessary sensitive details. For privacy questions concerning your report, see our Privacy Policy.
