Links and download requests
When you submit a video link, the website sends that link to its processing service to find available formats. Preparing a file involves sending information such as the video identifier, selected format, title, or a task token. The website requests task updates so it can display progress and the finished download link.
This information is used to provide the analysis and download features you request. Avoid submitting links that contain private credentials or information you do not want processed.
Information in your browser
The download interface keeps current results and completed links in page memory so they can be reused during the same page session. These results are not saved by the interface across page reloads.
The download interface does not use cookies or local storage to save download history, and the website does not include an analytics script. Third-party verification services may process browser information as described below.
Cloudflare Turnstile verification
When you start analyzing a supported link, YTDown loads Cloudflare Turnstile to help protect the service from automated abuse. Your browser connects to Cloudflare, which may process technical information such as your IP address and browser signals to perform verification.
A verification token is sent with your analysis request so the processing service can validate it. Turnstile is not loaded in advance just because you visit the homepage. Cloudflare handles information under its own privacy policy.
Technical information and external services
Requests to websites and processing services expose connection information such as your IP address and browser request headers to the receiving service. Hosting and processing infrastructure may generate operational logs; this policy does not specify a fixed retention period for those logs.
Video thumbnails and completed files may be served from external addresses. Loading a thumbnail or opening a download link sends a request to that provider, whose own privacy practices apply. YouTube and other external platforms operate independently of YTDown.
Email correspondence
If you email us, your message includes your email address and any information you choose to provide. That information is used to understand and respond to your question, feedback, privacy request, or copyright concern. Do not send passwords or unnecessary sensitive information.
Your choices and requests
You can choose not to submit a link or open an external download. Editing or clearing the input stops the browser from following the current request; it does not cancel processing already started on the server.
Contact us to ask about information relating to you or to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable. Include enough context to identify the request. We may need additional information to verify and address it.
Policy updates
This policy may be updated when the website or its information practices change. The current policy is available on this page.
